The only thing standard about the Standard Hotel is the name, and their trendy, modern vibe has attracted the attention of travel influencers around the world. The Standard is sleek and sexy, making it a hotspot not only for travelers, but also for local visitors who take advantage of the hotel’s luxurious amenities.
The Standard brand is focused on being on the pulse of art, music, and culture, and their hotels frequently host unique events. They’re also not afraid to be a little risque – they often use cheeky puns in their marketing and have even hosted artsy nude photoshoots. The experience of staying at the Standard is one that’s totally cosmopolitan.
The Standard is also planning a huge expansion plan to take advantage of its soaring popularity. The brand started by developing an app, One Night, where consumers can book rooms at the Standard and a curated selection of other boutique hotels around the world.
This model has provided a natural path to transition into a broader global strategy for the Standard Hotel. The Standard is about to open their new location in Londo as the start of their expansion. There are a total of 20 hotels planned around the world in Europe, Asia, and North America.
The brand is also interested in opening locations in Latin America, although an official destination has not been set yet. Some of the most exciting new locations include Paris, Dubai, New Orleans, Milan, Berlin, Hong Kong, Chicago, and more. While we’re waiting to see what these new arrivals bring, here’s an overview of the Brand’s five existing properties.
Why We Love The Hip, Happening, and Design-Focused Standard Hotels 🤩
Standard Hotel West Hollywood
The West Hollywood location of the Standard is the original one, and it’s right in the middle of one of the most luxurious areas of Los Angeles. The rooms feature fluffy beds, stocked minibars, and unbeatable views of the Hollywood Hills. The design of the hotel takes influence from 60s mid-century modern with a bit of sun-drenched California glamor.
There are several restaurants and entertainment venues within the Standard to keep you busy on your trip. Croft Alley, the hotel restaurant, features fresh Californian flavors with a classic Hollywood vibe. The Cactus Lounge is a more casual event space serving snacks and live music. To take in the California sunshine, head to the iconic pool deck, which serves up food, cocktails, ping-pong, and people watching.
Finally, for an exclusive nightclub experience, head down to mmhmm, a speakeasy with custom cocktails and live music. You also shouldn’t miss The Box, a showroom for avante-garde artists making waves.
Standard Hotel Downtown Los Angeles
The DTLA location of the Standard is just as exciting as the WeHo location, but also celebrates the things that make this neighborhood so special. As part of the area’s massive revitalization, this location of the Standard has become a huge draw for local Angelenos as well as for visitors from around the world. The stunning marble exterior is very commanding, and the skyline views of LA will have you swooning. The biggest draw for many people is this location’s rooftop pool and lounge, which is also home to a bar, dance floor, outdoor fire pits, and more.
For food, check out this location’s 24/7 Restaurant, which feels like a 50s neon diner on steroids. You can also head outside to the firepit, where you can enjoy craft cocktails in a beautiful garden atmosphere. For those seeking an exclusive experience, you can head downstairs to RVCC, a members-only club in a converted bank vault. You should also check out the Standard’s pop-up shop for sexy and comfortable designer loungewear.
Standard Hotel The High Line, NYC
This is the first of the Standard’s two hotels in New York. Located in the Meatpacking District, this location is directly above an old train line that has been converted into an iconic public park. Every single room in this location has floor-to-ceiling windows with iconic city views. But the true draw here is the huge range of food, drink, and entertainment options this hotel offers.
The most iconic is the Top of the Standard, which has beautiful art-deco design, craft cocktails, small plates, and live jazz. For a full sit-down dinner, you can head to the Standard Grill, which has a classic steakhouse that serves delicious meat and seafood dishes.
If you like to party, head up to Le Bain, a rooftop discotheque, or if you are interested in something more casual, head to The Standard Biergarten, with traditional steins and sausages under the park. The Standard Plaza features rotating art installations and food concepts to explore, and there’s also a 24 hour gym if you need to get your endorphins up.
Standard Hotel East Village, NYC
The East Village location of the Standard takes inspiration from its artsy, eclectic neighborhood, and is more charming than flashy. The hotel hosts the Annie O music series, which brings in a wide range of musical artists to play intimate performances.
They also have a beautiful Penthouse space that you can rent out for an event that will wow your guests. You’ll also find the restaurant Narcissa here, which serves California inspired cuisine with touches of global influence, and also has a beautiful patio in the summer. During the colder season, check out their Winter Garden, where you can enjoy fondue and warm beverages in yurts. For a casual atmosphere, head to Cafe Standard, where you can get American cuisine during the day and cocktails at night.
And speaking of cocktails, the newest addition to this hotel is narcbar, a trendy new space for drinks you won’t want to miss…
Standard Hotel Miami Beach
The Miami Beach location of the Standard is designed specifically to make you feel like you are in a giant spa. Many of the breezy rooms open out onto the garden, and several have their own bath terraces as well. The spa itself offers a huge range of treatments and specials to help you feel your absolute best, like a steam room, saltwater sound pool, and the arctic plunge waterfall hot tub.
Even the food and drink options here are a bit more relaxed than those at the other locations – start your day off at the wellness-focused Juice Cafe and Terrace, and then while away the afternoon at the Lido Bar and Lounge, a fun retro space with Ping-Pong, drinks, and film screenings. The Lobby Lounge is also a great place to grab a drink and enjoy pop-ups and readings that bring in the culture of Miami.
Finally, enjoy dinner at the Lido Bayside Grill, which brings the Mediterranean flavors we feel in love with in Barcelona, Ibiza, and Mykonos to the Standard.
