Canadian Museum for Human Rights

This is a big part of why we even have blogs like this, right? Inaugurated in 2014, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights is the world’s first museum dedicated to the “evolution, celebration, and future of human rights.

“It’s six floors feature galleries that explore topics such as “What are Human Rights,” “Turning Points for Humanity,” “Protecting Rights in Canada,” “Indigenous Perspectives,” and “Examining the Holocaust.”

The museum has a uniquely Canadian perspective while covering an international range of subjects. It is located beside the Forks and is a must-visit attraction in Winnipeg. As it is fairly large, visitors should plan to spend a full day exploring the museum and consider adding it to their list of things to do in Winnipeg this weekend.

The Forks

OK, this place has come up several times. We need to discuss it because The Forks is so cute and amazing! This intersection of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers has been a meeting place for over 6000 years for trade and commerce. Today, it’s a year-round community center with unique shops, restaurants, performances, and activities, making it one of the most popular places to visit in Winnipeg.

The Forks market is a foodie paradise where you can take your taste buds on a culinary journey. With over 4 million visitors yearly, the Forks is Winnipeg’s top tourist site, so be prepared to share the space with others. Of course, sharing is caring, so that won’t be a problem. Plus, the architecture of this adorably shoppable foodie district will keep you so enrapt, you won’t even notice the other patrons.

Gay Saunas & Cruising Clubs in Winnipeg, Canada

When traveling to a new city, heading out for more than just a stiff drink can be exciting. One aspect of the Gay Winnipeg scene that many queer men enjoy is visiting gay saunas and cruising clubs.

Sure, the sauna culture in Winnipeg is not as hedonistic as in Amsterdam, Barcelona or Berlin, but these venues still offer a chance to meet new people, socialize, and engage in sexual activity – without resorting to gay hookup apps.

However, it’s important to remember that these venues can vary greatly in terms of atmosphere, clientele, and rules, so it’s a good idea to prepare yourself before visiting. If you are apprehensive, we advise studying our guide to visiting a gay bathhouse for the first time, which should help set your mind at ease and always practice safe sex.

Additionally, it’s important to be aware of and respect local laws and customs regarding gay venues and sexual activity. With a little bit of planning and an open mind, visiting gay saunas and cruising clubs can be a fun and exciting part of your gay Winnipeg travel itinerary.
