First of all ,the staffs are friendly, special shout out to Julio, Fernanda ,Saul and another lady in the reception that I forgot the name. These people go way far and beyond to make your stay convenient. The housekeeping staff are amazing. the facility is clean. I like it very much that they have water dispenser in the lobby ,it would be better if they add additional one somewhere in the building or better if each floor has one ,We are on the 4th floor and we have to go all the way down in the lobby to refill our water bottles. Continental breakfast is nice but don't expect much from the tied up italian restaurant Lil'Italiano hahha that provided the breakfast, We asked for a replacement of another cup of coffee instead of orange juice as 1 small cup of coffee is not enough for us but they won't allow it. We have to pay extra if we want the coffee ,not much flexibility on that.haha

We stayed at The Reef 28 for two nights and had such an amazing experience that we ended up extending our stay by one more night! The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed. Initially, the room we got was a bit noisy, but the staff were incredibly helpful and moved us to a quieter room the next day, which was perfect. The spa and facilities were excellent, and the breakfast was absolutely outstanding – probably the best we’ve had in Mexico. The location is ideal – just a short walk to the main shopping street. Every staff member we met was professional, kind, and welcoming. If we ever come back to Playa del Carmen (which we absolutely plan to), this will definitely be our first choice again!

2 things…no one to help with my luggage up or down the stairs, and the shower floor was/looked dirty. Like it needed some elbow grease put in. Sorry I forgot to take pic. Other then that it was great for the price!

The hotel is beautiful, clean, the manager and staff are absolutely sweet. The breakfast place is delicious (also for lunch/dinner). We had a misadventure outside of the hotel at Punta Esmeralda (our car was broken into and bags stolen) and the hotel manager was so supportive and helpful to do whatever he could to help us out. Really outstanding.

It's Time to Playa

At the centre of the Mayan Riveria is Playa del Carmen, a playground for hip Europeans and toned-and-tanned Americans. This resort town showcases the renowned white-sand beaches of the Caribbean Coast along the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

Playa del Carmen's powdery white sands are nestled between Cancun to its north, Tulum in the south and the island of Cozumel, 20 km east with its fantastic diving in the nearby Great Maya Reef. Awake from an afternoon nap to take a dip, go snorkelling or deep-sea fishing in the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Playa is an easy choice as a holiday destination with its range of hotels, many first-class restaurants and beachside nightclubs. Quinta Avienda, also known as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist hub and shopping district. For a more authentic Mexico experience, venture outside of the centre to a local cenote (sinkhole) or Mayan ruins in Tulum.

Cruise ships dock in nearby Cozumel and traffic people to the mainland arriving at the Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. If the glimmering Caribbean waters are full, then Booking.com has a huge number of hotels with an outdoor swimming pool by the beach.

    , A lovely location on the Caribean Sea, a big attraction for me was diving in the Cenotes, very unique experience. Food is lovely and generally inexpensive, great vibe and lovely people. Highly recommend. Only downside is the seaweed which both smells and is all over in and out the water.

    The vibe is a little more chill compared to Cancún…which is a good change of pace as I mostly go to Cancun when coming to Mexico. The ocean water isn’t as clear as I would like it to be…but other than that, there are great places to dine, have brunch and meet people! Most everything you need is on or adjacent to 5th avenue.

    We live nearby and visit Play del Carmen for shopping and date nights. We enjoy it greatly! It's a beautiful area downtown, always busy and bustling. Do keep an eye on your belongings as it is an area for pick pockets and be prepared to just say no to hawkers.

    I had a hard time with not having the whole staff on the same page. One person said do it this way, another said do it another way. App is not user friendly. They push the app but it was not as up to date as it should be. It is a time-share hotel. I didn't like that. It says Adults only, all inclusive, but there is only 1 adults only restaurant, and there is no beach area that is adults only. The food and the rooms were the best part of the facility.

    It's a very touristy place. Prices are pretty high. Not a lot to do except shopping unless you book tours to the interior. Food at most places is just average, not spectacular, although there are a few restaurants that have really different offerings.

    A tourist destination with a lot of things to do and see.

    A tourist destination with a lot of things to do and see. I felt safe travelling by myself. Vendors can get aggressive and annoying at times though. ADO was a great transportation option from the airport to my hotel as the hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the station and for only $12 one-way. Taxis are also available to get around but a good amount of stuff are walking distance and some activities, such as Xcaret, provides transportation options. I ate at Zitla twice and enjoyed the food.

    We were staying at another hotel in Playa del Carmen which turned out to be sub-par. We looked for alternatives and booked Casa Yako as a last-minute deal. I’m glad we did as it proved to be a great stay. A really nice, well-kept apartment with great facilities and a great location close to the centre of town but far away enough not to be bothered by the noise. Good communication throughout the booking process and a great place to stay.

    My rating is not only for OYO Hotel but also for booking .com. I made a reservation with booking.com . I received confirmation from OYO Hotel in Playa Del Carmen as well. When I went to Check-in OYO Hotel clerk said we no longer accept reservations from Booking .com. Who is to blame I don't know Yet.
