The hotel was in the process of updating the 2nd floor rooms, so there was a little movement of equipment and me. No worries. The location for me was good, with the subway being very close. The restaurant was also closed under renovation, so there was no service. The one benefit of my stay was the excellent desk and service staff .

Very clean room , a little lived in but they started to upgrade the rooms where the first floor is being renovated So it’s a matter of time to have gone over all rooms. So the breakfast room was not ready but there are a few nice places around to eat well. Staff is very friendly and helpful About 3 minutes walk to a Metro station and a few nice restaurants close by Reasonable price

I was not using much of the facilities as I was there work related so early out and late in. Especially cause I had a company event till late at night during the stay. All in all very good and nice. No complaints.

Small but functional and adequate family room. I liked having two showers. The air conditioning worked amazing. Friendly staff and even though it was a very small boutique hotel they have someone there 24 hours and we were able to check in very late after a late flight. They also kept our bags for us in the am after checkout.

Breakfasts at Dom Joao Lisboa were something to look forward to--a step above the typical continental breakfast. The location in the neighborhood of Arroios was a delightful surprise. I prefer it now over the more central yet more touristy locations such as Chiado. The bars, restaurants, bakeries and other stores felt authentic and there was a quiet peacefulness to the neighborhood. A sweet little public square down the street had a soccer game playing on a big screen and the fans were all happily celebrating the game there. We were even close enough to the more celebrated parts of Lisbon to walk, even though Arroios felt quite separate from all that buzz.

I quite enjoyed my stay! It's not in the old city but a 15-20 minutes walk everywhere. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was lovely too. Appreciated the coffee and the kettle in my room.
