Company info

Born and raised in Western Canada, I’ve been a lifelong explorer. My first trip on my own was five months hitchhiking through Europe and north Africa when I was 17. In the mid-eighties I toured for two years on a shoestring in Asia and Africa. Then I worked in Papua New Guinea for twenty-five years, including a lot of travel all over the world. Wherever I have gone and whatever I have done; people have always befriended me and helped me. It is what I value most about travelling. Now, every day at the Oasis Inn, I get to repay a little bit of what has been so generously given to me over the years.

Just ten minutes' drive from Cairns International Airport and 2km from Cairns city centre • Within 10 minutes walking distance you will find the Cairns waterfront esplanade, numerous restaurants and bars, a 24 hour supermarket, bakery, car rentals, shops and takeaways. A pleasant thirty minute walk down the Esplanade will get you to the Lagoon swimming area, night markets, and the heart of the Cairns entertainment zone.
